TESDA scholars to get allowance thru own bank accounts

The Land Bank of the Philippines and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have teamed up to streamline the release of scholarship and training assistance for more than 335,000 TESDA scholars through digital disbursement.

The partnership was formalized through a memorandum of agreement signed on Feb. 16, 2026 at the TESDA Central Office in Taguig City by LandBank President and CEO Lynette Ortiz and TESDA Secretary Kiko Benitez. With the arrangement in place, scholarship allowances and training support funds will be deposited directly into the beneficiaries’ accounts, allowing for quicker, safer, and more transparent access to financial assistance.

Ortiz said the initiative is aimed at making the payout process more efficient by ensuring that scholars receive their allowances straight into their own bank accounts. Benitez, for his part, said the system will make the delivery of grants and support funds more convenient, secure, and reliable for scholars nationwide.

Under the agreement, TESDA will adopt LandBank’s ATM Payroll Facility for direct crediting of scholarship grants and training support. This setup is expected to cut processing delays, lessen the risks linked to cash handling, and spare scholars from repeated follow-ups regarding their allowances.

Payouts will be processed through auto-credit using LandBank’s weAccess facility, with funds sourced from TESDA’s designated Payroll Fund or Modified Disbursement System Account. The system will cover not only the TESDA Central Office but also all of its regional, provincial, and district offices across the country.

To receive the funds, beneficiaries may open a LandBank PISO Account, which requires only a ₱1 initial deposit, carries no maintaining balance, and allows up to ₱50,000 in maximum balance or monthly credit limit. The account also comes with a free LandBank ATM card.

Scholars who are 18 years old and above may also choose the LandBank PISO Plus Account, which requires no initial deposit and includes a Virtual Visa Debit Card.

Account opening may be done digitally through the LandBank Mobile Banking App, using either one valid ID or a TESDA-issued endorsement letter.
